Snipers beware.
Check out the last picture in the slide show. I'll be getting to this day soon. Take THIS, sniper. You might be asking yourself why the heck I would fire a rocket into a building when I have my tank right there. In fact, why would I get OUT of my tank, while taking accurate enemy sniper fire, to shoot a rocket in the open when I have the most precise and lethal fire control system built into my tank? Because shooting a rocket is cool. Also, I'm from Syracuse, not Albany. But I guess it's all the same to you Non-Upstaters.

At least you didn't strip down bare chest, run out into the open and challenge the sniper to a knife fight.
You've got a heck of a 'voice' as a blogger, LT. We just lost a great one in SGT Hook (alive and well, just retired from blogging). Keep it up.
Thanks LT. Thanks for your service, for your leadership, and for your great blog!
And yeah, firing a rocket is way cool. They never let us M.I. pukes play with the cool toys, more's the pity...

I found your site from Blackfive (http://www.blackfive.net/) and it's great. Consider me a regular reader.
Keep up the great work, stay safe, kick ass and most of all THANK YOU.
Not wait a sec, not all downstaters are ignorant. I damn sure know where Syracuse is...went to College in Oswego. The snow always seemed to fly harder after passing Syracuse! ;-)
Keep your guys safe and do great things. I'm proud to have served, and I even prouder of the young guys like you who are out there keeping things safe today. Good Luck and God Bless you and your unit.
Thanks all for posting and for your support. Yeah that AT-4 shit was insane. We do some crazy shit but my gunner is hands down, the greatest SGT in the army. He can tank his ass off, takes pride in his work and appearance, and from day 1 when I took this platoon on October 3 2003, he told me, "I got your back, Sir." He has never let me fall.
Toni - The main gun going off is the most devastating thing I know of. It is terribly loud and scares the shit out of enemy and friendly alike. I'll get to the feelings it invokes in our friendly crunchies(that's what we call dismounts) when I get to D-Day. Good stuff!
I'm another visitor from Black Five. Great site! Keep up the good work, sir!
We know what you were feelin', but what in the heck were you thinkin'?? We pay you NOT to get yourself killed.
Read more about LT Prakash at Steve Mumford's blog. Here.
LT, do you know this guy...he's the artist/reporter. Incredible work. You are mentioned in his 7/29 entry.
Charles,
Yeah Steve was with my company for several months. He's a real cool guy from Manhattan for 14 yrs. He was with us during that battle. I linked the story in my Articles post. There's a pretty cool picture in the BBC news my cousin found from that day. I will post it one of these days. Also, I will do a post about that battle as well.
Wow!
Red 6, our man in Iraq, kicking ass and not wasting any time taking the names of those fiddles (socalled, self-proclaimed non-infidels).
We love you, man!
and i bet watchin' those little iraqi kids disintegrating is a real blat too! nothing but a trained DOG!
and i bet watchin' those little iraqi kids disintegrating is a real blast too! nothing but a trained DOG! thank god you guys dont have brains, or we would all be in trouble
I went through ROTC as Syracuse University - Go Orange - but am from Chicago. I was a tank platoon leader with 2-37 Armor (1bde, 1AD) out of Friedberg, Germany in '97 and '98.
Never deployed; never shot at anything more than plywood targets at Graf, but, still think of that as the best year of my life...
